Did you know the Ford Escape got a full redesign? I had no idea until I was at the Ford Dealership this morning and saw one. Took me by surprise. Idk if Ford isn’t marketing it, or what but I totally missed it. Any way here it is.
Oh and the base engine is a 1.5l Three Cylinder Ecoboost!

Well look at Mr. Rip van Winkel here

Hot damn those proportions seem way off to me. I’d keep looking at the pics to better figure out what looks so off, but ugh, I can’t.

Still not big on Ford, but I will say this looks a lot better than the last-gen Escape to me!

I see a lot of this in it.

I’ve listened to some reviews. From what I’ve heard, it’s more comfortable to get in and out of and the hybrid gets good mileage. However, almost everyone I’ve heard says it drives very incoherently - like the the chassis isn’t connected to the wheels and brakes. They all still recommend the CX-5.

I guess the Ford Escape/Kuga now fits in with the Ford Puma.

I think I’m the odd one out, but I liked the previous design better. Something about this doesn’t look cohesive. Although very curious to see how the three cylinder drives/holds up.

The rear looks like a Compass and they’re both kinda ugly yet kinda plain. When the previous gen debuted it was an amazing design leap. This seems more like a facelift. Ford’s new “soft” design language just doesn’t do it for me.

Why cant we get that instead of the eco sport?

I don't want this, you can have it. They've destroyed the Ford Puma name.

I like it. I guess Ford’s design strategy of knocking off luxury brands continues (Aston Martin Fusion, Land Rover Explorer, Porsche Escape)
Hopefully we get the ST-line at some point
Or, even better (and pretty likely tbh)

I think they look better in person. Still not sure on the front end though.

I just don't pay attention to new car things much anymore. The Escape is the new Focus and I forget something is moving to be the new Escape.

I don’t think Ford really needs to advertise the Escape all that much, people will buy it because a) its a crossover, and b) it exists.

yeah - I have not seen any in person yet, but seem like a nice CUV and a solid upgrade from the last gen. Didn’t that little turbo 3 win engine of the year award or something? I’m honestly kind of curious about it - is it like half a turbo I6, or is it just small, lumpy and kind of thr ashy.

At first I thought Mazda and Ford were working together again because I thought it was a re-badged CX-5. But then again, in my jaded eyes a crossover is a crossover is a crossover...

TIL: Ford make engines in Valencia.
